Choose Truly Natural Body Care
|
|
|
Toxicology studies show
that adverse effects result from the use of certain substances that are utilised
in the manufacturer of cosmetics. Many studies are animal based
and use greater amounts of substance than individuals would with cosmetic application.
Health Revisited is well aware of the controversy
that some of these studies show no adverse effects in small amounts but for health
reasons
we choose not to use any ingredient that has a
known adverse affect as Body Care Products are often used daily. Our concern is an accumulative effect of
questionable ingredients and the unknown consequences of constant
exposure for years.
CHOOSE NATURAL BODY CARE PRODUCTS FOR ENHANCED
WELLBEING
Health Revisited DOES NOT use synthetic fragrances.
Fragrances are not used as they are a source of PHTHALATES. In animals, phthalates
have been shown to be a developmental and reproductive toxin. Meaning it can cause
birth defects and affect reproduction in the males when exposed to the substance
in utero and shortly after birth. Phthalates can cause damage to the testes, prostate
gland, epididymus, penis, and seminal vesicles which causes lifelong reproductive
problems. Phthalates are associated with endocrine disruption in humans.
Therefore we choose to scent all of our products with only
Pure Essential Oils.
Health Revisited DOES NOT use Preservatives.
Preservatives may be in skin care in the form of parabens eg methylparaben.
Health Revisited
Products are able to avoid preservatives as the natural essential oils have antimicrobial,
antibacterial and antifungal properties but most importantly our products are free
from water so have a longer natural shelf life.
NO SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate)or DEA.
Many cleansing and foaming agents are derived from coconut oil but are
harsh on skin. Coconut oil contains alkali laurate which can irritate
some sensitive skin types. Coconut oil in its whole form can be found in some of
our Natural Soaps but is kept to an absolute minimum and is only utilised for its
lathering properties so our products remain gentle to skin. Our Massage Bars &
Shea Butter Products are all free from coconut oil.

WHAT ARE NATURAL SKIN MOISTURISERS ?
|
 |
NaPCA is a type of sodium that naturally occurs in skin and helps it to retain moisture.
Natural moisturisers with properties similar to NaPCA include
Shea Butter
,
Cocoa Butter
& Aloe. |
The top layers of external skin need to be moisturised and protected from environmental
elements. These layers of skin are not dry because the body is dehydrated, their
moisture content is affected by the environment and the condition of the skin barrier.
Moisturising
with a lotion (water based) or cream (lipid based) will assist to hold moisture in the transepidermal layers
and give to the skin a smooth plump appearance.
Research shows that lipid rich moisturisers improve the condition of skin sooner
than moisturiser with a low-fat content. Read more about
High Lipid Moisturisers
Health Revisited believes a Natural Skin Moisturiser should be free from harmful
derivatives and chemicals. It should enhance the appearance of skin and not compromise
health.
